Fleets and  OEMs participate in the ATDynamics innovation process in several ways.

Some come to us with benchmarks. An LTL fleet needs to improve its highway fuel economy by 6% and recover its equipment costs within two years. A trailer manufacturer wants to offer best-in-class aerodynamic options that uphold its standards for performance. ATDynamics responds creatively so that our customers will reach their benchmarks:

  • We help fleets plan pilot projects of ATDynamics technologies
  • We collaborate with engineers at trailer OEMs to ensure the compatibility and durability of factory-installed aerodynamics
  • We modify existing product designs and generate new product designs to meet fleets' specifications

Before an ATDynamics innovation makes its way to market, we let select customers put it to the test. In 2010-2011, fleets in New York and California will run prototypes of our active flow control system now in development. For our customers, this opportunity will give them a first look at next-generation technology. From ATDynamics' perspective, we will receive valuable feedback on how the system performs in on-road operations. Ultimately we will have a better product and in the meantime our customers will sharpen their competitive edge.

Occasionally, fleets and OEMs come to us with ideas for new technologies. We can't get enough of these ideas. We brought the SuperSpare™ to market just six months after a fleet approached us with a basic design, which we refined.
